This is a completely true story of love that surpassed many boundaries. Please reblog this if you can, I want to show how truly special their connection was to Jim, who still cries every time he sees me. I don’t want notes for myself or followers, I just want to help “my adult friend Jim,” as I used to call him, feel better.

My Aunt Di passed away in February of 2011 at age 51. She was the aunt that used to not only listen to me when I dreamed of going to Disney World, but agree. If she were here, she would obsess over Darren Criss with me. She was an amazing person. She was extremely overweight, she smoked, and this ended up being the reason for her death.

Then there’s Jim. He is married, but he and his wife aren’t really in love. They’re split up; they just don’t want to get a divorce due to legal issues and their age. He was a New York State assembly man. He makes sure everyone knows. Aunt Di worked at his office, trying to keep him organized. He’s currently 86 years old; he will be 87 this year. He still works in that insurance agency. He used to take my aunt and me to the grocery store just so we could spend an hour playing in the claw machines. We were experts. I got paid once to win a toy out of one of the machines.
